One of the goals of the Beacon PTO is to help provide funds to cover costs not included in the general operating budget of Beacon Academy.
Dear Beacon Friend,
Each year, Beacon families provide valuable financial support to our school through contributions to the PTO. Monies raised through PTO activities - such as the Sock Hop and Butter Braids fundraising efforts - go to classroom grants to teachers for field trips; new library books; teacher and staff appreciation; and the End of the Year picnic. These are important funding areas that are not covered by the school’s operating budget.
Just this year alone thus far we have invested $2400 to classroom grants for teachers and provided over $1500 in scholarship funds to help families in need cover activity fees.
The needs of Beacon continue to grow as do our aspirations for our school. Thank you in advance for making an investment in your child’s education and in the future of Beacon during this exciting period of growth.
What is the Beacon Academy PTO?
The Beacon Academy PTO was originally founded as the Beacon Academy Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) in 2004 by Beacon families interested in fostering a partnership between parents and the school staff. In 2009, PAC changed its name to Beacon Academy PTO when PAC decided unanimously to become a part of the National PTO Organization.
While our mission remains the same, by becoming a PTO, we are able to take advantage of the many benefits, programming and directives offered to members of the national organization.
With this said, the Beacon PTO is committed to working together with Beacon families and teachers to create a sense of community that supports our kid's and their academic and social growth. The PTO goals are to financially support critical educational needs through fundraising, build community ties and strengthen the communication between the school and Beacon families. We seek to:
