Art Shanty Projects needs your help to host our first year on White Bear Lake! Help us expand the notion of what and where art can be.

Winter of 2014 is that wonderful time of year when the Art Shanty Projects transforms the frozen surface of a Minnesota lake into a creative community space that is part art gallery, part art residency and part social experiment. In 2014 we are excited to host our inagural year on White Bear Lake! The project's basic structure is 20 Art Shanties (think art gallery / studio + ice fishing shanty) built by teams following a competitive selection process. For four weeks artists produce work, offer free arts programming and build a strong sense of community on the lake.

The Art Shanty Projects is entering into a new renaissance! We are currently applying for 501c3 status (current donations are still tax deductable through our fiscal agent, Springboard for the Arts)! Non profit status will help us sustain our project as we return to an annual event! In the meantime we really need the support of our thousands of audience members to help make this free event a success!

We truely believe that Art Shanty Project Supporters walk on water. All doners who give $20 and above are invited to pick up a free ASP Supporters Walk On Water screenprinted patch out on the lake this Feburaury. With your help we are excited to grow and involve more artists and more communities in new ways as we set out into the uncharted territories of artmaking! Please give what you can!
