The mission of Arc West Central is to empower all people with developmental/intellectual disabilities and their families to choose and realize their goals of where and how they live, learn, work and play. Serving Clay, Becker,Norman, Otter Tail, Wilkin, Douglas, & Grant Counties.
1. Information and Referral -
Assist in locating information, services & resources
2. Training and Support for People with Disabilities & their Families -
Help people know their rights and how to navigate the systems in place that can be useful to help them live a quality life, as well as learn about therapies and strategies that can positively impact individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities
3. Advocacy for People with Disabilities -
Advocate or simply serve as another pair of ears or as a source of ideas in IEP meetings or other situations
4. Legislative Advocacy for People with Disabilities -
Help people tell their stories about how legislation affects real people
5. Membership Development to enhance Self Advocacy and expanding interests and social opportunities
6. Housing Access Services -
Assist people with disabilities that are eligible for long term care or state plan home care services and wish to move to a place of their own.
