ARC is dedicated to ending the suffering, abuse, and exploitation of non-human animals.

Mission

The Animal Rights Coalition is dedicated to ending the suffering, abuse and exploitation of non-human animals through information, education, and advocacy. We believe that animals matter for their own reasons and that they should not be used by human beings for profit, pleasure, amusement, or simply because it is our habit to do so.

Programs

Community outreach activities range from booths at large events and professional conferences such as the Twin Cities Pet Expo, May Day Festival, Pride Festival, Education Minnesota Professional Conference, and Twin Cities Book Festival to staffing booths at local concerts, to helping the hundreds of individuals who call or email us for assistance with animal issues.

As part of our Speaker Series, ARC annually hosts at least two nationally recognized speakers to educate the general public on animal issues. These events are free and open to the public.

Vegan University is a program designed to promote compassionate eating and consists of three elements: "Help, I'm Going Vegan" workshops and discussion groups, vegan shopping tours of local co-ops designed to teach people how to shop vegan, and a vegan mentor program.

VegKins, is a unique social networking group for parents raising vegetarian and vegan children that allows parents to come together to exchange ideas and information with other parents and build a community of parents raising compassionate kids.

Cuddle Coats educates the public about fur and encourages people to donate fur coats to aid orphaned baby wildlife in their recovery at wildlife rehabilitation facilities throughout the United States.

Dissection Choice provides information and assistance to students who choose not to dissect and provides information on alternatives to local high schools and colleges (over 50 so far).

From helping people transition to a plant based diet to publicizing the abuse of animals in laboratories to educating the public about the exploitation of animals used in entertainment, ARC’s vigorous education and outreach programs reach thousands of people every year with the message of compassionate living.

ARC also maintains a website and sends a monthly e-newsletter to members.

Nothing in life gives me more happiness than to help animals in need.

The last time I gave I thought I gave a monthly gift. When I got a new debit card and found out It was only a one time gift. Chickens and the great organizations that take care of them Like Chicken Run Rescue and UPC need as much money as possible to support their important work. And part of that work is educating the public and debunking myths and stereotypes. Chickens are fabulous its a shame that most people do not get to see chickens that way.

Chickens and all poultry do not receive the kindness and respect that they deserve. It is my wish that people would become aware of this atrocity so that positive changes will occur. If more were aware of how their food is treated I think their would be a lot more vegetarians in this world and laws would be passed to protect them. Nothing on earth should have to suffer the way that poultry does prior to and during their deaths. It hurts my soul to be aware of how these sensitive, emotional birds are handled.
