We're Minnesotans. This is our State and we care about what happens within our communities — to animals as well as to people.

Our passion and focus are for animals because we believe animal neglect and cruelty are still common and even acceptable by some.

We believe animal abuse is both a cultural problem (i.e., beliefs and behaviors by individuals) and a systemic problem (i.e., outdated processes, laws and oversight governing the welfare of animals at state and local levels).

Our mission

Our mission is to prevent animal neglect and cruelty by creating a modern system of animal care and protection in Minnesota.

As a nonprofit animal welfare organization, we are research-based. We are working to identify the underlying causes of animal neglect and cruelty in Minnesota and frame solutions for 1) improved governance of animal issues and 2) improved enforcement of animal protection laws. We collaborate with state and local authorities and animal experts who can contribute to long-term, sustainable and revenue-smart change.
