AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF WOODTURNERS INC
Mission of the American Association of Woodturners to provide education, information and organization to those interested in turning wood. Our fundraising is focused on youth programs.
The American Association of Woodturners (AAW) is the largest international, non-profit organization in the world dedicated to providing education, information and organization to those interested in turning wood. Members include beginners, professionals, gallery owners, collectors and wood and tool suppliers.
AAW has grown to over 13,800 members worldwide and supports more than 332 local chapters. AAW publishes the journal American Woodturner six times a year, organizes a highly attended annual symposium, sponsors arts outreach activities and operates the AAW Gallery of Wood Art, which is located in St. Paul, Minnesota’s Landmark Center.
The AAW believes in the value of teaching young people the art of woodturning. The personal skills learned through woodturning give young people a sense of accomplishment and pride as well as the joy of a life-long activity. To promote youth-turning outreach, many AAW local chapters have created a mentor program, where the skills of woodturning are taught by experienced turners. AAW members have also donated their time in community outreach through demonstrations in schools and to youth organizations in an effort to inform and inspire young people.
Donations supporting the education of youth in woodturning teach life skills that last generations.
Thank you for your generous support of our youth woodturning outreach project.
