Abbey's Hope Charitable Foundation works every day to protect children from drowning and entrapment.
Abbey's Story
In June 2007, 6 year old Abigail Taylor was entrapped and disemboweled by the suction from an uncovered pool drain. Abbey fought bravely through 16 surgeries, a triple-transplant, kidney dialysis and chemotherapy. Sadly after months of fighting, Abbey passed away from her injuries. In her memory and hope that what happened to her would never happen to another child, Abbey’s Hope Charitable Foundation was created.
We know that accidents happen. But when you look at the causes, many could have been prevented. Abbey's hope was that no child would have to suffer as she did from a preventable incident. In her name, Abbey’s Hope Charitable Foundation works fiercely and passionately to protect children from drowning and entrapments. We do this through water safety education programs and countless partnerships with local communities to raise awareness and promote safe behavior. We also work with government and pool industry officials to ensure that all pools comply with federal and state safety regulations.
Though we’re making significant progress, we need your help! With your support, we can turn Abbey’s hope into a dream come true.
Please join us in our effort to keep all children safe. With your donation, our children have a greater chance of living safer, happy lives.
