20th Anniv. Campaign: Creating Affordable Homes, Strengthening Communities

Over the past 20 years, the Land Trust has helped 240 households achieve the dream of owning a home. In doing so, they've made Duluth, Proctor and Hermantown more vibrant & stable. The organization takes blighted & foreclosed properties & transforms them into quality, energy-efficient homes for low-moderate income families.

As mentioned in the video above, many of the families they've served would not have been able to purchase a quality home without the help of the Land Trust. Krystal Wing who purchased her home in 2009 said, "The hardest thing was walking through so many houses in my price range and realizing that everything needed work. When I walked into this house, I got to here (indicating a spot 2 feet away from the front door) and said, 'This is it! This is my house.' The more I saw of the house, the better it got." Another homeowner Bettina Keppers said, "I've moved 11 times in the past 5 years. The Land Trust helped me put down roots."
