2011 Second Annual Donation Nation RSI Fundraiser

With the continued less than desirable state of the economy, things have and continue to be tight financially for most people. Our clients are no exception and, as a result of already limited personal needs monies which continue to be further cut, are even more affected. This is the money they use to buy personal needs items (toiletries, clothes, medication co-pays, etc) and, if anything is left over, go towards possible extra-curricular activities.

As RSI is having this funderaiser to help supplement the funds for our clients, you have the opportunity to donate to RSI and in turn, directly benefit our clients.

Last year I ran 20 miles, in Duluth, in a blizzard, in a pink tutu to fulfill my promise to all those who generously dontated. The run gained media attention (local, national and even international) much to my surprise, but was valuable in getting the word out as to what RSI does and what we were raising money for.

UPDATE!

The pink tutu has been found (luckily, it was washed) and will make its appearance once again!

I will again be pledging to run one mile for every $200 donated (excluding any matched amounts). Last year, $4000 unmatched dollars were raised and true to my word, I ran 20 miles. As you can see, the more donated equals the more miles I run in the tutu. Fun, right?

I will more than likely have a few other individuals who will be running with me as well this year and have agreed to also don a tutu of their own.
