2010-2011 ANNUAL APPEAL

Gail is an avid equestrian . When she moved into her Wingspan home a few years ago, she frequently spoke of riding horses with her mother. In 2007, with help from her brother Bill, Gail was able to attend “We Can Ride,” a program that helps people with disabilities find connections with horses. Through the program Gail learned how to ride, groom, and build relationships with horses. She works with a different horse each year, and when she becomes comfortable with the horse, she rides outdoors, gradually working up to a trot. Through her work with horses Gail has gained confidence and pride in herself, and is not shy about telling others how proud she is of her achievements.
