Youth Development Through Social Enterprise is the Mission of Elpis Enterprises and it tells the story.

Working with homeless and highly mobile youth the small business operations run by Elpis Enterprises give youth the opportunity to:

* Promote positive relationships with peers
* Capitalize on their strengths
* Learn healthy behaviors
* Connect with caring adults
* Assume leadership roles in programs
* Build their competence

A small manufacturing operation utilizes recycled cedar fencing to make a line of bird feeders and nesting boxes. Youth in the work experience program facilitate community building workshops for youth throughout the Twin Cities.

Youth also work in a full service screen-printing operation that produces program T-shirts for many of the Twin Cities youth development programs.

Mentored by professional staff youth complete a training and work experience program and then capitalize on this experience for the next opportunity with the help of Elpis placement staff.

These activities take place in a unique program space that allows youth to be creative and learn in an experiential environment.
