The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is essentially a free museum in a park, welcoming residents and tourists alike.
The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is one of Minnesota's crown jewels and its centerpiece, Spoonbridge and Cherry, has become a Minnesota icon and a valuable economic, educational, and cultural asset for the state.
The popular fountain is just one of 42 remarkable sculptures that inform, challenge, and delight visitors of all ages, 365 days a year. In fact, the garden has welcomed more than 7.4 million visitors since it opened in 1988.
But Minnesota weather...all 4 seasons of it...can really take a toll on all that is exposed. Each year, the artworks in the garden require restoration and conservation efforts to keep them in mint condition. This ongoing maintenance is supported entirely by donations to the Garden Fund.
