ICA provides food and financial assistance in the communities of Minnetonka, Hopkins, Excelsior, Deephaven, Shorewood, Greenwood & Woodland.
Nick Coleman’s recent editorial about the booming business at food shelves was correct: the increase is beyond belief. Even in the western suburbs we have seen a huge swell in need and fervently serve groceries to 1 family every 15 minutes. During the last year over a third of our clients had never been through our doors and agencies such as ours are the true barometers of the struggling economy. Ending hunger may never be a reality – but when businesses, food suppliers, donors and communities work together we can be confident that if someone is hungry the answer is readily available and the supply is ample. Please support your local food shelves and meal programs – they will make certain to nourish your neighbor.

ICA is supported by 37 partner congregations and many business partners; in 2007 we listed 43 major business donors. ICA is also supported by civic organizations, schools and fraternal organizations. Our citizens and communities have embraced ICA’s mission and support has been evident during our entire 37 years of serving our neighbors in need.
ICA Services
Our clients are your neighbors who find themselves struggling to make ends meet. Most of our clients work, but do not make enough money to cover the basic needs of their families. Some are able to achieve financial stability rather quickly, while others require ongoing assistance and support.
Food Distribution Program - Most food orders will be filled within one week’s time. Pickup may be scheduled depending on appointment availability. If the need is urgent, the client may come to ICA or Resource West for an emergency bag.
Walk-ins – Clients who come to ICA without an appointment will be given an ICA emergency bag of food and a future appointment will be set up.
Financial Assistance Program – Assistance for financial aid such as rent, mortgage, and utilities. After necessary application is submitted, an appointment will be scheduled.
